Hands Full of Peace

Reflecting in the meadow of life
Alone in the veins of tomorrow
Searching for a moment without sorrow
The child stands facing the beyond

Along comes the early morning rain
Casting the graciousness of the rainbow
The sounds of water running free
At the small feet of the lost child

Shivering in the midst of violent storms
Huddled, asking for love and warmth
Tears flow freely from the innocent
No arms ready to lend comfort

Asleep through childhood deeply hurt
The heart shattered in the wilderness
Of love and truth, pondering who to trust
The child grows loving all of God's creation

Offering to all other humans his hands full of peace
Gently comforting the hurting with empathy
Forgetting all his ills he moves the butterflies
Into the hearts of the lost and destitute

At the strike of dawn he searches for an olive branch
Calls on all angels to move the rainbows
Closer to hearts they've  never been before
Sheltering the hurt and the poor giving them hope

Offering his heart to culture love
Watering the garden of peace with his tears
He harvests handful of butterflies ready for flight
And ribbons of rainbows throughout the night

All he ever wants in return are smiles
Upon the glowing faces of children
That they endure no more pain and solitude
That all humans recognise life's values
And begin to cultivate their own hearts
So as to enlarge the garden of peace and love

If he has a moment left after his work is done
He hopes to thank God for the care he received
From one person he treasured
The most important person he ever met
Whose heart is so pure and so honest

Respond to my call and let the waves of my heart fill your life with the wonders of love
(Daniel J D)

Very nicely written and touching...

Throw your heart out in front of you
And run out to catch it.

I would pray this be a prayer (it sounds like one) I can say and truly believe, it's lovely, Daniel.
