I’ve waited for a lifetime for someone to be true
Then stumbled on a pot of gold, which turned out to be you
You gave my heart a longing, a purpose and its beat
You gave my mornings sunshine and wings upon my feet

You gave me thoughts of nonsense, a smile and words of joy
You’ve given me some years of hope and so much to enjoy
You’ve been my love, my anchor, which holds me true to life
Today, that pot of gold I found, with pride I call my wife

(Written for a friend of mine about to get married, a small reading he will read to his beloved on the day).

I have a feeling your friends smile a lot - especially in seeing that you added a little "nonsense" to this rhyme...and what a marriage cannot do without...

a keeper...

God, I loved this. This is what a wife should be...all these things, this guy is one lucky fella...!

Rick~
Such a keeping gift - the gift of words~
I'm sure it will be treasured by all.

I had to bump this one back up. This is so wonderful. To write for a wedding is not an easy task. I admire your participation, and personal dedication here Rick and I think "The Wife to Be" will be elated!
Sincerely,
Regina
