The rains come
Streaming down the panes
It's my time, my time
To Dance with you
The darkest room, my haven
To escape the outside rush
I look for you in silence
I find you in my secret place
I quietly push up the volume
To feel your static world
My Hair down around my shoulders
My breath is steady, waiting
As the bass begins to play
Then your voice, Southern
deep down low, Soul of Georgia
Allures the Gospel angels
To swing down the saxophone
And baptize my weary spirit
In waters of ancient blues
I sing with you Otis
I remember the words
"You are tired
And You Want to be free
And my Love is growing Stronger
Because You've become a habit to me
I've been loving you.. for too long
And I can't stop Now"
Your voice carries you over
The plane of the plain
And you touch me right where
I need it on rainy days
And I can't stop Now.
You are free with me
Winged voice of Sweet Soul

Yes !  Yes !  Yes !

You've captured the magic of Otis Redding's music to a 'T' !

When I cross the river, I wouldn't be surprised
to hear Otis singing 'Sitting On The Dock Of The Bay'
I just love this~

Seymour: Thank You for visiting my words. I'm so glad you enjoy them!

Krawdad: Yes, moody but content in his music. Can't help but feel something when he sings. Thank you for your reply!

Marge: Thank you, Thank you, Thank you. Just what I needed. Great Pic. Yes, I do believe he'll be there, barefooted and swinging his legs from his heavenly dock of the bay. I love ya Soul Sister!

A snapshot of a personal moment caught in a wonderful description...  I can relate, but to another artist -- Chopin, perhaps...? ;->

Ah the soulful strains of the southern pains of the man on the dock in the bay. Thanks.

Mark: Thank you! I love Chopin too. But some days I like to be less refined. However the pattering of rain would be soothing to the orchestra and ivory melody. Otis just cries out from the corners of my soul, southern grounded and cornbread fed! I am.

RSWells: Exactly! Watching the tide roll away! Thank you for reading!
