Insanitys Hero

This dying heart
marked for oblivion
shown the sepulcher
of it's death
touched the mane
of the Milky Way
and fled when Satan arose
from the fiery depths.

This glistening tear
rolling down
sodden cheek
salty,
salty to the taste,
falling, falling
with increasing haste,
splashing to the floor
and is no more,
my God
what a waste.

This empty soul
screaming
for it's voice to be heard,
crying to hear just one word,
hiding from the light
shinning so bright,
in the hand  of the darkness
pushing it forward,
onward
in spite
of the fear
it incites.

This empty shell,
this body,
this man
forgotten,
ignored,
a non-entity
living a shadow life
among the multitudes
that see him
no more;
see him only
as a sore,
a blight,
an open pore
a pustulating,
reeking,
effigy of humanity.

This mind
that dreamed
of stardust,
held hands
with the Lord,
spoke of the wonders
of life,
of living,
giving of itself,
to any that paused to hear,
now wrecked
and beaten,
locked in a walless space
confined by emptiness,
unaware
of all
but itself,
and of even that,
is unsure.

This person,
who loved her
with every sparkle
of the night-time sky,
every kiss
that's ever been given,
every hand
that's ever touched
every word
that's ever been said,
had to watch her
go away,
not even a goodbye,
just gone.
This person, cold,
so cold,
inside.

This strikes me deeply as I wonder what some of our wanderers feel that sleep in the streets. They no longer talk, except to themselves, and will not take any help offered. I hurt for them and you have put it in words for me. So very sad.
Sincerely,
Regina

Outside forces change us in ways we never dreamed we could change.  Very intense, traumatic write!

So sad. Why do some people that we love just go away so abruptly? It certainly is enough to make someone crack ay some point. I can see so much in here. Take care.

jwesley - you write well of love's emotions, and the pain of when it is gone from us...
