I never had a love for you
And I never showed concern
I never had a pang of loss
That jealous heart’s would burn

I never lost a wink to you
Of sleep or fancy eyes
That you once praised me for
Now I use them just to cry

For though I never loved you
I bared your child of lust
And now my mind is old
And my motion steeped in rust

(Iron on…Iron off)
(Iron on…Iron off)

In the morning I kiss you off
But my chores are neatly set
Oh how I never loved you
And wish we never met

(The baby…the baby)

Wakes me from my reverie
Shakes me from my mooring
For all the love I saved from you
In him I have it storing

So as the starch is overdone
And your boxers gleam so bright
(Iron on…and…Iron off)
The irony is my delight
