Most of the information
You were told
Was nothing more then
Insecurities that took hold
Truth had no part in it, Just
Stinking thinking
That would make it fit

When someone has been betrayed
By base family in that way
Trust issues arise all their life
Disbelief in unconditional love, causes strife

Scared all trough life to open up
And show true self
Wasn't caused by me but all the hell
From Mother, Father,Siblings and such

I never underestimated or denied
All the worth of whats inside
That's why I've always been right here
So when time came, I could be near
To watch the spirit comforth and grow
Into all I've seen there and known

Not a court jester am I, or ever in controle
Never even wanted any of that role
No power struggle going on here
By the way, No lies from me have been told

So lots of time and love to make up for
Is all that matters inside these doors
Out of love I always made it clear
There was complete freedom, to just go

True love doesn't hold captive
But wants whats best for their love
No Matter what happens

So on this note
I think I'll close
And if theres anything
You would like to know

You know exactly where I'm at
Just don't hang up
I guess thats that...

           Thank You

Sad and wise.
I know family scars.
Well put.

I agree.  I would agree totally, except that I don't believe anyone who's gone through it ever gets over it totally.  Good luck to you.

"Learning" is relatively easy -- it's the UN-learning which serves as the challenge, not to even mention Trust.  Strong stuff here, Connie, and many good points to think over.
