We can't turn back the hands of time
but we can remember how our love once was
and how much we once loved one another
Our days in the sun are no more
as our love has grown cold and
the sun has been overshadowed by
dark grey ominous storm clouds

Our once golden beach isn't golden anymore
The greyness of the day weighs heavy on my mind
and casts a dark shadow over my heart
The rain now falls heavily as it
drenches my body and drowns my soul
as I walk alone along the edge of the sea

My shadow kept me company earlier
but has now gone along with the sun
as have my footprints in the sand
that have been removed without a trace
with the incoming tide

The wind blows unforgivingly around me
as if sensing my troubled mind
I now leave this lonely shore
under the cloak of the dark brooding sky
I don't want to be alone anymore

Suetang, what a poem! You are so creative in your thoughts and so well written. I love this one.

Not fair for this poem to be lost at sea, so I'm taking it out of the trough and back up to the crest of today's writes...  Nicely described sentiments, though the sentiments themselves desire sunshine...  Good job, Sue.
