I wrote this the day it happened but I am posting it now, there have been way too many drownings here in Phoenix and I just feel the word needs to get out there on how important it is to watch children around water!  It's pretty bad when we count how many days we go without a drowning

A Child Almost Lost

We almost lost our child today
In water crystal clear
I thank the Lord that He was there
And had daddy standing near

As I was helping her sister
I looked away you see
I know it was only a second
And not any more than three

The pool can be so dangerous
When kids are standing by
So when they are near water
Keep a closer eye

Just remember the children
They can be quick you see
To run and have the confidence
Just watch them is my plea

Gotta agree little children need constant supervision around the water...they are not aware of the dangers...sometimes when I'm swimming I see little children wandering on the beach and I wonder how close the parents are...James

Cindi~
This is a timely post that we should all make sure gets read.
It doesn't take but a second for a little one to be gone.

Very heartrendering subject.
I hope more read it.

Cindi-
Yes...VERY sad..and scary when we get
excited about going 5 days without a drowning
   or near drowning incident.
It's ashame that more people don't
   take it seriously.
It can happen to ANYONE, and it can
   happen VERY quickly.
   Glad you posted this one.

   hugs,

Marge,
I hope that more people do read this...I always said I would NEVER let it happen to me...I thank God it didn't but it just proved to me that no one exempt from this rule...and I was doing everything to keep an eye on them!

Great poem and good advise,  we should pay more attention to kids when around water, things can happen so fast.
