Our romance once sang
a Motown bliss,
my baby love.
I touched you a thousand times
imagined, softly pressed
upon your breast,
counting Tenneson's
Summers washing
your feet with rose petals.
There I treasured
your very word
spoken or silent,
except the last.

Our romance once sang
a melancholic ballad. For you
questioned happiness, having
drank from the callous abyss.
Perhaps, it was me,
making a promise
too many, maybe
the only one you remember was
the only one I could never keep.

Once our romance sang
dulcet laughter
across the telephone.
Even from November's
icy infamy until now,
You fed me future fancies.
All that time, you
even called
me from his house!
"Separate beds" I joked
secretly praying,
"I sleep alone. There is no
room for him in me."
If only that were true,
So no love was exchanged,
and still
It was a cold  pleasure
and it was a broken betrayal.

Our romance now sings
Leonard Cohen's  "Hallelujah",
Cold and broken, no Hallelujah.

"And resentment rides high, but emotions won't grow And we're changing our ways, taking different roads" ian curtis

I like the line 'I sleep alone.  There is no room for him in me.'

It seems that I am late in saying, welcome to passions.  You write well and with heart.  I look forward to reading more of your poetry.

I wish there was some way in which I could express how much the warm welcome I have recieved mean to me, but honestly words fail me. All I can say is THANK YOU from the bottom of my heart.
