The moon was full and golden
like a womb lit with a
fire from within, where the shadows are
of the child growing inside,
Against a dark wheat bread dough
full and raising.

Samia~
Poems of perceptions of the moon intrigue me.
This is ripe with imagery.
Very, very nicely done.

Irish Rose, Snooganzmeister, RMW, Cpat Hair, Marge, Seymore and Melissa  - Thank you! I'm glad you liked it. I said this poem outloud before I wrote it down. I was walking my dog at night and the moon was full and low in the sky, so I was inspired to "write" a poem in my head, and this is what happened. Go figure. Thanks again! And long live the poet in us all. ~Samia
