Dreamers

I’m standing in a line, it seems
With other souls with other dreams
Each one awaits his given turn
As moments tick and candles burn

And all the eyes are fixed upon
The silver gleams on field and pond
Reflections on the trees and hedge
From dreams beyond the mountains edge

So patiently we wait our turn
No hurried step, no dire yearn
And yet we stand in starlight’s beam
Each one in line to catch a dream

If I could have but one desire
I’d not allow the candle's fire
To waste the wick til I have seen
All those in line obtain their dream

A dreamer is a dreamer’s friend
And all possess a poet pen

'If I could have but one desire

For I am but a dreamer too
Can I stand in line with you ?
I will share my ink of think
On the edge of poetry's brink

We will write until the dawn
For dreams well-penned are never gone
Captured in the words of rhyme
Lasting into infinity of time

*Thank your for the beautiful inspiration, sweet poetess.

Come and stand beside me in a row

POst after post into the poet's nest
Dream after dream in wondrous verse devine
So come over here and stand with me in line

THanks, Marge

Liz,

Your heart is showing in this, consider me a dreamer too    The flow and rhyme and tender thought is wonderful.  Whenever I read your poetry, the world is so lovely through your eyes.  Thank you for being a poet.

And of course, you saw this coming....into my library this goes~
