When I was a waiter,
I sent the dishes to
this older-than-she-seems woman
to wash.
Her wrinkled face
would squeeze a weary grin.
Shrugging her shoulders,
pointing at the numerous pots and pans,
she carried on washing,
with her gloves on,
(the cuts and blisters on her hands dismissed)
her hungry pangs
sadly but necessarily chucked aside.

I am not fishing for compliments
but I used to help her out
whenever I could.

Together we would then wash the dishes,
with me always slightly irritated
at her inefficient ways,
(but i made no noise nonetheless)
groan inwardly at the work to be done
and attempted to have a decent conversation
using mutually unintelligible dialects

you've really gotten much better with setting your scenes and finding ways to show them to us. . . I really like the direction that your work is taking!!

You've brought a mundane task to life with your images and highly descriptive words.  You keep getting better and better
