Be Careful What You Wish For

She was a statuesque, raven-haired beauty,
More woman than most men could resist.
She came to seduce them with her dance,
For tonight she’d dine on a neck or wrist.

She slinked in and rose onto the stage,
A vapor like no other filled the air.
All the men’s eyes were watching her,
Unaware of whom really was there.

Her beauty was simply astounding,
A body of perfection gyrated in dance.
She mesmerized all those who watched,
Putting them into an opiate trance.

She sent out one silent scream,
Knowing a weak one would hear.
She'd suck their life’s emotions,
Wishing men were blind, and had no fear.

I knew she would appear tonight,
She needed fresh blood in order to stay,
Silently she watched and waited,
Who would get the kiss of death today?

Her power is bigger than all of theirs.
She has the Prince of Darkness on her side.
Their goodness will never extinguish her,
Behind heaven’s brightness they'll never hide.

If you feel her icy breath upon your neck,
You will know that she’s been there,
She looks right into your very soul,
Steals your beating heart without a care.

The land of the walking dead has claimed her,
Now she’s the belly dancing vamp from hell,
Watch out the wishes you wish for,
They may come true, you just never can tell!

*wiping the sleep from my eyes, huh? what? Is my name Miranda ... oh, yeah, it is. lol
You did fabulous, just as I knew you would when I gave you the pic. As for me, I'll take a swing at it, but having had this pic for almost a year, I still had yet to come up with anything. But as you said my dear so nicely, "Be careful what you wish for."
LOL, I could tramatise this board with bad poetry...hehe

Prof. Gloom, glad it suited you.

Interloper: Glad you enjoyed it.  Poetry Police?  She is covered and there are others with less on than this little gal, even an angel today!  The human form is art, and viva le art!

also well met.. I have to say the winner in this challenge would be extremely hard to decide... mind if I give it a go as well?

Much too young of body
To be so old in ways

Ancient one made it this way
At her wish to remain
Always just so…

Now breast holds
No heat for lovers
And heart no longer
Feel the pangs of love
Only hunger for another
So life again can flow

Beauty macabre
Enticing and inviting
At her wish
Always just so…

Be careful of your wishes
Be careful of the night
Lust can surely kill you
If in this one you delight

Long ago a memory
Of warmth and gentle soul
Troubles remnants
Of her mind
Begging
Blending
In wishes for this
To end

CPhat now you really turned it into a challenge you know - Miranda will come out "fighting", I on the otherhand bow out, I could never compete with the likes of you two!  Have fun, and that was wonderfully done, and a neat very cool interpretation of the art!  Well done!

Wowzeroonies, Sharon!!!!!!  You have done an outstanding job capturing the mystery of this awesome picture!  This was so intensely captivating, some of the verses left me wincing in anticipation wondering what was going to happen next, but that last verse really made me smile..."Now she’s the belly dancing vamp from hell..."  Now THAT'S one hell of a line!  I love it ~ it's one I just might be able to describe for a couple of co-workers ~*~winks & wicked chuckles~*~
Great jobber, sweet lady....I LOVED THIS!
Hugs and smiles...and LOTS OF LOVE sent your way, always ~*~dawn~*~
