The Shores of Alone

0 posted 2001-07-30 01:10 PM

Another wakeful night, the woman rose
dreamlike, she thought she heard the mirror call
she placed her hand upon the crackled glass
and felt herself slowly begin to fall.

She saw a flash, and rushing scenes passed by
a scream of terror, who would ever save-
then peace, a feeling she had never known
pushed back the fear, and held her like a babe.

She stared in awe to see an ancient throne
upon it sat an angel, fierce and strong
He gestured to her, told her all was well
for she was home, after a wait so long.

He pulled her close and told her of the truths
gave answers to her endless questioning
no longer must she live lonely and sad
"Listen to me, cannot you hear hearts sing?"

She looked back towards the past, just one quick glance
and said goodbye to all the hate and lies
then turned and sank into her angels arms
and left behind her world of pain and sighs.

An interesting take...  Hopefully, she'll find happiness there.

Awesome poetry...... it depicts sadness and yet it boasts of hope.

Sometimes, I too pondered when my angel will take me away from this forsaken lands. But for now, I enjoy what life has to offer.

At last, she found peace.  Beautifully written.
