The Shores of Alone

It's just like any other night
we tried to watch some dull tv
and talk a bit of nothing much
you look at me, but never see.

(Tonight the palm trees sway gently
some other place quite far away
where you and I held hands and laughed
and swore our love would always stay)

Another night in paradise
no one feels or sees or cares
you know, a night like all the rest
yet on it goes, if no one dares...

Come to me in my dreams and then, by day I shall be well again. For then the night will more than pay the heedless longing of the day.   Mathew Arnold

Wow, this one is so true it's almost unbelievable.  Hopefully, someone will get the strength to do something about this.  If you both try, the love can be rekindled.  Something to ponder I guess.

All writing comes
by the grace of God.

So unfortunate to just let love die.  Give it yet another chance, just one more try.  I truly hope things work out for you.

Maybe you need to revisit those palm trees...just think how romantic it will be as the fronds sway in the oceanic breeze...James

Ahh Paradise is what we make of it, but it does take both, for it is still out there, waiting, tantalizing, wanting...find it, reclaim it...very gentle smile...good points there

I guess it's true, paradise is what me make of it!

Let my words fall first upon deaf ears before a closed mind...

I like the "parallelism" in this poem, Sandra...  you are on the brink of something here...

Sandra,
Isn't it sad that so many evenings turn into "just another night"?  Well done.

A fantasy worth making real! With thoughts like that, the fire is still there. I hope the TV gets turned off and you guys get..well you know!
Sincerely,
Regina
