I no longer dream
of fairytale kisses
or ever afters

I no longer dream
of that white picket fence
around a big yard

I no longer dream
of a life filled with wonder
laughter like raindrops

I no longer dream
no wishes on distant stars
no soft summer nights

I no longer dream

I no longer dream

To give up on dreams is to give up on life,
So let it be true for today
But when tomorrow comes full of hope
Let those dreams take you away.

(Please?)

Let my words fall first upon deaf ears before a closed mind...

Part of me feels the same way as you...because I have been disappointed too many times...but the other part still wants to dream...James

Dreams stir the spirit and fuel the heart.
Keep on dreaming!!

Throw your heart out in front of you
And run out to catch it.

I believe you can rekindle the fairytale kisses and soft summer nights, if you just give it another try. Good read.

I agree with you to Paula...in fact one of new poems is called Mirage Of Dreams where I compare a mirage in the street to a dream cause when you think a dream is there it's gone just like a mirage.....anyways, good poem...peace!!

You don't have to dream, when you have found the real thing.

Never lose sight of that dream, Paula, for it's never too late for happiness to find you.  Good write.

Lovely Paula. Remember though---

There are dreams, unremembered,
Which come to us still,
First a whisper, then a golden song,
To recall when the heart needs music.

Hi Paula,
I hope one day the dreams you have put on a shelf, turn into an  unexpected happy reality.

Hugs,
Deb

Now here is a beautiful but sad poem that I can relate too these days. I like the repeating at the end, Paula. I certainly hope all is well!

Well you echoed my mind in this one Paula, and it's a horrible place.  You wrote it well.
