and I willingly surrender
to the void
of never letting go

I loved so many things in this, I could have cut and posted all night.  Felt every word of this!

I see your face
in the cream clouds of my coffee
and shiver in the brush strokes
over auburn strands of hair
that once wrapped around the fingers
of your kiss
~
================================

You are gone
a ghost of reminder
engraved in my core
in soothing agony
a beautiful contradiction
and I willingly surrender
to the void
of never letting go

It is I who am impressed now Melissa. This one made my heart beat and my mind race, and I think we all agree emotion is the best part of sharing poetry!

Melissa,

I love this poem.

The emotions you so aptly describe can be felt by anyone reading this, especially if one has loved and lost.  The agony of dispair and not being able to do anything about it...oh yes...you have captured these emotions perfectly.

"and something inside of me died...

at the thought of never again
feeling your lips...

screaming at fate...

refusing to stretch
our passion to forever...

The taste of tears
is all too sobering...

knowing that you are
in her arms...

and I willingly surrender
to the void
of never letting go"

Oh Melissa, this one brought tears to my eyes, it is so very powerful!

Keep writing...you are gifted!

This ache is oh to familiar to me now Melissa, and I pray that you need not suffer it for long.....but you write of it so well.  Heres a big HUG for you, with wishes for joy to come your way soon.
