Do you still wish
For the things you wrote down
Four long years ago
Before you left town...?
Do you still need
Someone who will care
Love you forever and
Will always be there?
Are you honestly happy
Or do you still wish?

hmmmm, well, I still hope, and wish and dream, but I think there's changes in the stream

I have asked that in my mind to a certain person many times. If only we knew..do they still wish, and remember and think about how it should have been. Or was it just us? (me..I shouldn't speak for your situation   )

Virginia:  The stream is an epitome of a paradox -- it's always changing but remains the same...  rather like we humans, no?

Sandra:  Makes me contemplate the concept of parallel selves -- imagine if EVERY choice possible has its own path of outcome -- I mean literally -- a dimension/lifetime of a parallel self which lives through that life with that choice, all simultaneous with our current life...  Then, imagine if we can and sometimes do (on purpose, hopefully, or inadvertently) snap in and out of those actual life-paths...  (can you hum the Twilight Zone theme right about now...?).  I call this theory "Parallel Dream/Life Crossover", where two (or more) such parallel lives cross each other and "reverse phase", if you will.  A true example of a real Twilight Zone.  I can only imagine the possibilities, positive and negative, but I've experienced, to a minimal degree, something similar, and I'm sure we all have at some point in our lives.  Now imagine if we can consciously learn to control the shifts...  (I feel some inspiration brewing here...)

Mark, that is such an intriguing thought, I have wondered about it often. That is really something I would like to discuss further at some point.
Once again, I liked the poem, and had to respond to your words

Mark
I believe we all wish for many things, some which are easily obtainable and some that are totally out of our reach.  I hope your wishes come true.  Take care.....Sue

Sandra -- thanks for the reply, and I'd love to hear your thoughts on this topic.

Sue, thank you for your wishes.  I think that a wish's actualization is directly proportionate to the intensity of one's desire and effort to attain it...

short but to the pint.. the list lines cleverly tie the piece together with as you tell VAS about the stream a paradox.

Interesting thoughts you have as well... visited those thoughts a few time myself...

Thanks for making it a point to stop by, Ron -- this place isn't the same without you!  Paradoxes are the building blocks of our lives...  the more you look, the more of them you begin to find.

Mark,
If only we knew if "they" still wished. I guess it's only all too clear that "we" still do...

Elise -- ...and it is the fact that we still do which makes for fertile inspiration as we plant the seeds of thought, emotion, and expression.

Okay, about that paradox thing. No, I don't wish to be anyone else or be with anyone else. But the facets (theoretically) being that of Mind, body, spirit, tell me that I'm not done...wishing, hoping, and reaching out for others.  Just as I wish my children and loved ones to be happy, healthy and prosperous. I wish to learn all I can and see all I can before I leave this world. But they are only wishes, which some I can turn into goals, some depend on the other person. And sometimes, coincidently, they do come true. We are really unique in our ways aren't we. Great verse, as usual!
Sincerely,
Regina
