Counting Syllables in Senryu?

Counting syllables?
Senryu comes from your heart
It's the thought that counts

Visions of one's love
Inspires a romantic poem
Kindling a soul

Love, growing from words
Intertwined in senryu
Do syllables count?

If you can't say it in 17 syllables, is it worth saying?  lol

Well then, I guess not!  These are charming!  I would respond in kind, but I think you've read my mind!

Ah, syllables counting in senryus.
You write them so well Mysteria, keep on counting dear, fingers or heart.

Lady in White - lol - there are mistakes in there!  I thougth for sure you would nail me!

Titia - Thank you, the object of this was to see if anyone counted them, as there are mistakes but hard to figure out?  Thanks!

heh heh heh

Well, I had decided that you said senyru with 3 syllables, possibly, and kindling, as well.

i.e. sen-y-ru       kin-dl-ing

this is how I say them sen-ru and kin-dling

although, I've never heard anyone say the word senyru, only seen it in print at poetry sites

at any rate, I still enjoyed the read and the counting

Virginia: You got it!  Maybe the senryu is said differently in Canada, eh?  He he, and there was one more wrong yet!

wpwpoet: Ah shucks thanks, and normally counting does count, but I was having fun - sometimes it is good to break the rules!

you KNOW I caught 'em all, lady

Are syllable counts important? Of course not!! As a matter of fact I'm tired of water being H2O..if it's H1O or H3O is it any less wet?!?!?!

Let's call them Senyru GOTAS (Give Or Take A Syllable)....

Whatever you write in however many syllables you choose to use  still adds up to wonderful in my book

I never count that when I read just in critique and THIS sums up an amazing heart for feeling.
