"I spent a lot of time last evening at a John Lennon Memorial Site, reading his poetry, and I guess it caused this dream, that I have written about.  If you want to learn more about living for today in some peace and harmony, this is a great site to visit dedicated to a a great man,
John Lennon,
October 9, 1940 – December 8, 1980.

You May Say I’m A Dreamer

Mysteria © July 2001

Yes, you may say I’m a dreamer,
but I’m not the only one…

In the stillness of night I had a dream.
And when I woke in contentment’s arms, I smiled,
then reality took me to her bosom, and I cried.
I did not wish to wake to today's strangulation.

It was only a dream…

I dreamt of a world of absolute wonder.
A world full of hope, peace, equality.
Every one cared about each other in a true
sense of understanding, sharing and brotherhood.

Such a simple dream really…

A dream for all humanity, complete harmony,
where understanding replaced ignorance.
A world of no wars, prejudice, anger, or hate.
In my dream, “Love Thy Neighbour” meant something.

A dream that could come true!

We lived in a world where all hearts and souls,
Sang in harmony and rejoiced in one song for all.
Man was not influenced by the economy,
race, creed, or religion and all was accepted as is.

A Dream of peace for all...

Every heart was filled with compassion,
There was a constant flow, an aura of peace,
A sincere warmth of love and understanding.
War was a word never spoken in my dream.

It was only a dream…

When a child spoke, someone always listened.
No one ever went hungry or became sick.
The world was free of mental and physical abuse.
There were no tears, and peace was good.

Yes, I’m a dreamer but I’m not the only one!

Imagine
by John Lennon

Imagine there's no heaven
It's easy if you try
No hell below us
Above us only sky
Imagine all the people
Living for today...

Imagine there's no countries
It isn't hard to do
Nothing to kill or die for
And no religion too
Imagine all the people
Living life in peace...

You may say I'm a dreamer
But I'm not the only one
I hope someday you'll join us
And the world will be as one

Imagine no possessions
I wonder if you can
No need for greed or hunger
A brotherhood of man
Imagine all the people
Sharing all the world...

You may say I'm a dreamer
But I'm not the only one
I hope someday you'll join us
And the world will live as one

Mysteria, I would remain here forever if only to read your poems. Thank you for inviting me, and thank you for the lovely words you grace the board with.

The song Imagine is one of my favorites...it is a poem, a song with life...
Recently Oh Yoko became my favorite Lennon song...the feelings of love and desire that he possessed for Yoko touched my heart...James

So glad I read this.  True, short story...I got a baby hamster a couple days after John Lennon was killed and named him Lennon.  He was the coolest hamster, used to escape from the plastic ball he ran around in and play with the cats.  Thanks for this!  It certainly captures the heart of 'Imagine'.

JLR: I loved your story, and expect to see that turned into a poem.  Thank you for imagining.

Logan: Yes, but we need a lot more dreaming though!
