Between a laugh and a tear...

Bid Adieu

These tears I cry, I cry for you
Naught enough, my love held true
'Twas born to die, this much knew
Sweet heart's pain could only rue

Candid affirmations left no clue
On languished love, left to chew
Adjourned, nevermore to love anew
Vanquished eternal, love's lustred hue

Through swelling hazes, coloured blue
Once perceived, now known true
A final farewell, last bid adieu
Defining thought, last breath of you!

"Friends are quiet angels who lift us to our
feet when our wings have trouble remembering how to fly." ~unknown

Eddie, I don't know what to say for this reflects my emotions so entirely at this moment....

EagleOne~
You write so well.
The reader is caught in the surge of your emotions~

Eagle my sweet friend...this cuts at my heart
such goodbyes are what tears are made
of...you wrote with such intensity one can
not help but feel it.  If I could I would
reach across the miles to offer you the
comfort of a hug for whatever it was
worth...take care of you sweet one~

Kathleen ~ then I ask that you take care my friend, for I know that these feelings will pass.

Paula ~ Yesterday, today, tomorrow! I think perhaps its an acceptance of ones place in the grand scheme of things.

Marge ~ Well I guess I write with my heart on my sleeve, it's the only way I know how. Thank you!

Butterfly ~ Intense sums it up very well, but then I think that is the way I am when it comes to love. Rest assured my dear friend your thoughts reach out and are of great comfort, take care!

Deb ~ But can we ever say goodbye to love? Is it ever really lost? Thank you!

So sad...however emotional pieces are the best reads.

your writing is lovely................

adieu's adieu
it's not goodbye
a breath that's nigh
upon a sigh
adieu's a parting
for a time
await of verse
to close a rhyme
adieu's adieu
a kiss on cheek
until tomorrow's dawn
will peak

Janet ~ truly I don't know what to say, your words have this humble poet blushing! I thank you my friend, take care!

Dee ~ I recall the words to a song that says it's a fine line.....  Thank you!

azblond ~ I agree, I think poetry should stir the emotions be they sad or otherwise.

Doreen ~ my words pale into insignificance when placed beside yours.  Thank you, take care!
