It’s Your Turn

the love you’re looking for
is on the way
it’s not the one you expected
but it’s one to stay

you loved so deep
to never get any back
the problem was not you
there is nothing you lack

you just sold yourself
a little too short
and the jester not the king
was holding court

secretly locking up your heart
holding the keys as you bled
you deserved so much more
getting nothing instead

I lit all the candles
and said your name
God holds all the power
the gift awaits, for you to claim

reach out and grab it
for the love you want and yearn
don’t give up this chance
it’s your turn
