I guess this night is mine, alone
with all my sins unatoned
no miracle of oil for lamp
I shiver in the darkness, damp...

I guess tomorrow is the same
the bold of shame within sun's flame
where all once hidden be revealed
stains of blood in scar congealed.

I guess I'll never know the truth
wisdom understands aloof
Wrap the black scarf--
drape me in--
shut out the world
escape within...
Hide the sunlight
from my eyes
off to crypt
I creep--sunrise--
everything I've known is lies
and still I search the truth.

Ahh, Serenity, but the now is NOW, not of anything of yesterday..so let the sun sparkle from your eyes and walk tall, casting a long shadow..very gentle smile

like the way you kept it dark like the scarf-- keep searching

There is society where none intrudes, by the deep sea, and music in its roar.

Well...do I say I loved this?  Well I did!The tone of it matched the subject, and the images were dark enough to hold me affixed to every word that was woven into a dark black scarf.

Keep searching... you will find bits and pieces of it here and there...and hopefully put together the puzzles...

It is in that "still searching" that you be "still" in the searching and all of the answers will come to you.

As Logan remarked.

A good write, Serenity...

Serenity~
Very vividly, you've taken on the search~
Your search will lead you to places you need to go~

the answers lie with in....you just need to see your own light...
AND see the light in your poetry...
the gift is evident...just look at this  heartwrenching beauty
love ya me twin
me

only you could give love that satisfies the soul...
see the darkness of my heart and still won't let me go.

I like the way that you made the last verse different. . . almost like the "unreeling" of the scarf. . .

great job. . .
