Peace, dear peace
my elusive quest
whose search won't cease
till married to it's breast,
a muse's balm
of quiet civility
it's soothing calm
supplies tranquillity.

Oh sweet serene
whose water's undisturbed,
soft velveteen
whisper'd proverb,
placid paradise
of mellowed mild,
entreaty'd armistice
unspoiled child.

Peace adored
by minds which seek masseuse,
gentle accord
for mental state a truce,
a blest event
in waking not just sleep,
I crave content
before laid to the deep.

once again..you write me.
contentment seems to be a fleeting thing..
an elusive butterfly...beautiful to look a, hard to hold on to.
well done poet sir..heres to finding that inner peace and contentment.
take care

only you could give love that satisfies the soul...
see the darkness of my heart and still won't let me go.

Well done... and yes it is elusive...and never long  visited before it must once again be searched for...

Enjoyed.. some very nice word play in here..

oh,my, very well done!!!

peace I give you, not as the world gives, but peace that passes understanding

oh how we seek peace, always, your poem epitomizes that longing superbly!

The eternal gift of peace is one that seems to be the most elusive but I have found that most times if I listen with my heart and hear with my eyes then I am most often left in a very comfortable state of peace.

This is the first of yours that I have had the pleasure of reading but rest assured, I WILL be back.  Exceptional writing.

What can you possibly add to Mark's comment, so I will just say ditto, and I really enjoyed this one Richard, great work.
