“ Little thoughts come from small minds”
Momma told me growing up.

I listened then and wondered,
Because I was so small,
If my mind would be little?

As I grew older and watched
The world around me shrink

I learned the size of people
Had nothing to do with their ability
To think.

Little thoughts come from small minds?
Or do they come from little hurts
That never heal?

to analyze, then...

"never been hurt...large mind?"

you've got me thinking, but then your works do that....

thanks for the comment... but I think your logic trail should consider it not the size but the inability of little hurts to be healed by the individual that might lead to the act of being "small minded" and intolerant.... just my own "small thoughts"

yes I went that way on the first read, but then I needed to turn it around to see what your response might be....

I think I read a comment yesterday that said that you have a way of writing that goes straight to the heart of the reader and this work, with it's bite, does the same.  Excellent as usual...

Cpat:  My mother had many sayings, one of her favorites was, "pretty is as pretty does".  Little hurts can keep a mind from expanding I suppose..interesting, and thought provoking.  Enjoyed the read!

You do have a way of making one think.
My mother used to say, sticks and stones can break your bones but words can never harm.
I don't know where she got that from.
NOT true. She meant well I suppose.
Anyway, I do like your thought provoking poem.

An excellent thought provoking read Ron.
I have met many abused people and they must work a lot harded to make it, and usauly they lose sight of there dreams.

Throw your heart out in front of you
And run out to catch it.

at first I was thinking you were speaking of the child being very capable of large important thoughts, which of course is true, of course, also, you made your true point vividly with the closing line

well done!

Such is the power of suggestion... or impression...  Is it true, though, that "little hurts never heal", or is it that the memory of them remains vividly?

Small minded, and shallow! Traits I don't see here in these wonderful poems. You all help broaden my perspective with each verse! Thanks for sharing...which helps little hurts and big ones.
Sincerely,
Rwood
