How dare you look at me
like you somehow still care,
when your own feelings
your no longer willing to share?

You look at me as though
I'm hurting you in some way,
but you are the only one
who walked away that day.

You expect me to tell you
what it is that's wrong with me,
if you would search deep enough
you would already be able to see.

I don't know what it is
that I'm feeling any more,
should I keep this open
or should I shut the door?

This heart feels so heavy
because it needs a quiet rest,
I've never been able to offer
anything more than just my best.

It has never quite actually
seemed to have been enough,
and I am so very tired of dealing
with all of this kind of stuff.

So how dare you look at me
like you somehow still care
when you have left my heart
to drift, hanging out there~
SOMEWHERE?

On the wings of words our spirits fly....and our souls are free.

Your words are not only poetic in rhyme and flow but they also hold a lesson within them to us all.  Someone that couldn't be happy with you giving your all probably isn't able to appreciate anything in life and will remain lost until they actually give some of themselves.  Wonderful write and a very graceful way of expressing yourself poetically.

Mark, I don't know so much about the graceful part.  I was actually feeling very
saddened by it, but your words ring so true.  Until he can give of himself
and appreciate life, he will surely remain lost.  Just wish there was some way
for him to find his own end to his journey, and in the meantime, I just
pray he will be blessed and his spirit will guide him.  Babbling again.....but
thanks MUCH!!  Your words always show such wisdom to me, I am grateful
for that.

ah yes GS, what to do with the heart when the love is over??

the only thing to do is just to let it drift for a while. . . but not too far away. . .

wonderful words my friend. . .
