The Most Glorious Bloom

I look down on the spectrum’s hues
Of golden, bronze, and pastel blues
Laid gently on an emerald bed
With spatterings of scarlet red

A coverlet so neatly sewn
And every colored patch its own
Display of beauty wrapped in folds
Of fragle ever changing molds

Not one more splendid than the next
I reel and spiral down perplexed
As where to lay my gentle kiss
As I descend through morning mist

I twirl and float and gently spin
In morning drops and gust of wind
The sunlight penetrates and glows
Upon the petal of a rose

I spot a patch of purple bloom
And settle on a petaled plume
And spread my powdered sails of gold
To all the world my wings unfold

There is no flower as grand as I
A dazzling floating butterfly

Liz - yes, you are a butterfly and you bloom all over passions with your marvelous poetry and kind replies

This is just so whimsical, classical and lovely, it flows like a song

It's a gem that's going into my library, I love it!  I even wish that I had written it, I just adore the way you write~

I wanted to leave something special for you in exchange for all the beautiful poetry you share Elizabeth, with my sincere gratitude.  This was absolutely beautiful.  I printed it out to put with your others, until your book of poetry comes out  .  Will you please hurry!

As you well know, I am a huge fan of both the butterfly and nature and your wonderful gift of vision within your words has treated these eyes to one of the most beautiful tributes to both ... if not the most beautiful that I have had the pleasure of reading.  It is sooooooooo very nice to read your poetic grace once again.  Well done for sure.
