Don't you love the feel of book?
I like the weight, the heft of it--
I love when it is leather-bound
with every page a golden glyph
all this glitter
fingertips
shadows glimmer
shimmer lips
every word
I write is home
and yet I turn
each page alone...

I adore the written word
and the taste of life absurd
I lick the cream of imagery--
anything to make you see...

Every word
a cry unheard--
this is why I write--

I follow bird
a flight unfurled
wings of shadow into night.

A libra libretto, luring a learned lament. Enjoyed.

I too love the smell of leather books and buy them sometimes for their character (and they do have them).  Serenity, you dear poet, know how to strike a chord in another poetic heart!

Ahh, gentle one, but books never let you down if well written..hmm, well life doesn't either, it just teaches..lot of similarity between books and life, and you touched this very well indeed..very gentle smile, o' thoughtful one

Just wonderful.  Like inot2B I especially like the line "licking the cream of imagery."
