Ah, 'tis a morbid scene wha' lies-
Before the weary Traveler's eyes.
Shattered cities, looted 'omes,
In ever corner tha' 'e roams.

So like the ring o' ancient Rome-
Where I, an' comrades once called 'ome-
Shattered, ivy covered wreck...
Wha' once to thousands oft did beck...

Beneath the rain o' deadly steel-
Wha' shattered hallowed Wrigley Field.
No more to 'ear the screamin' fans,
Wha' cheered for Cubbies fra' the stands.

An' to the East, mine eyes ha' seen-
Above the water, arm o' green.
A brandished torch, now verdigris'd-
The vaunted lass o' Liberty!

It seems to me, oo's traveled far-
Man 'as a genius for war.
It seems 'e's shattered Earth so frail...
'Tis time to end me Traveler's Tale.

Makes you wonder is this just a poem or do you have the ability to see into the future.
Glad I found this and hope it is not what is to be.

End of poem only ... I hope.

I really like the dialect that you've used here. . . it's really not one or the other. . . as if we had another kind of "visitor" in the end. . .

great job. . .
