Smite me where I stand.
My pen is dead,
all my words to be left unsaid.

I have half a heart,
my tounge is dry.
The muse has said her last good-bye.

My parched throat mute,
my stylus lost,
my ink is sur ly run i g lo .

Hopefully
this isn't a "farewell to poetry"
Because you do so well with it
and it would truly be a shame
to but such skill to waste.
But then again I know what you mean
I stopped writing for awhile then
all of the sudden I realized,
I do want to write, even if people
don't choose to read it or not.
The frustration is worth it though
because it doesn't matter what other people think.
All that matters is the fact that you
wrote something that you enjoy,
that you believe you worked hard at.
This is a really excellent poem
and I hope it isn't the last..

No, this is probably not the last poem I'll write. It's merely just something I wrote out of frustration because well, I couldn't write.

Unrequited love sucks.

beowulf_26-
I've known this feeling many times.
Not a fun place to be, but you've penned it well.

Your frustration left me with a large smile! I do enjoy cleverness in pennings such as this!

Funny thing about those muses...they like to disappear from time to time, but she will come back...just hang in there...nicely done!

No fear of running out of ink,
I just can't seem to get
the white out off my screen!

Farewell not accepted by the way!

Let my words fall first upon deaf ears before a closed mind...

Thanks all. I must say I'm shocked at the number of responses to my poem.  Fear not, I haven't given up on poetry at all, and I do appreciate your support.
