Listen Listen
My children
Line upon line
Word upon word
All oiled greased and heard

We with our children
All settled yet stirred
Onward we groan

Time goes back
To kites and haystacks
Muddling over what we've learned

Sift the memories at hand
Memories lean toward
Pure white sand

Sift and mold
The young grow old
Retelling what they know

Listen Listen
I'll feed you
Milk and meat
Some spoiled some sweet

I shall not say
That I have all of the answers
Or that I've made the right moves
But this I know
Listen to yourself
And when you get the answer
Move

Throw your heart out in front of you
And run out to catch it.

shadow--We would all do better if we but listened, especially to ourselves.  Enjoyed your poem!
