I watched her crumble
to the floor
with arms outstretched
in search of more...
I sat while she held
cold stiff hand
and searched her eyes
for understand...
And yes, she knew
her love was gone...
but she was faithful--
carried on.
And never once
did she dare speak
as though him dead,
or if him weak...
She kept him cradled
in her palm...

She kept his faith.
She carried on.

this is so sadly wonderful...

I have seen this...and you captured it all...and stil as you know it only captures the surface of what is going on...

Many hugs
many thoughts
many times

It's sad yet touching, I can't think of many things that are worse then loneliness.

Do not fear going forward slowly,
Fear only standing still.

serenity ,
As one who has seen the light fade , a witness to the passing of loved ones , this strikes a bitter-sweet chord . Thank you for this .

Sometimes it's hard to thank you all for the replies when it's so sad. But I appreciate it..and by the way, my mother was amazingly strong and dignified. But I do thank you for your kindness, and I am just overwhelmed at the outpouring of love from my poet family.
I will be eternally grateful.

To witness a love and faith such as this...she must be a very special woman.  You are in my thoughts even when I am away from here.

This touched my heart greatly, very powerful expressions in this one.  Great work.

A beautiful piece you will look back on some day with love and respect, and know that that one touch spoke volumes.  God bless!

you hit a chord in my heart here

carrying on can be a hard thing to do, however it is also the most important, 'they' wouldn't want it any other way.

great peice
