I drove down to the river-
Just to pass a little time.
My thoughts just seemed to flow away-
To the time when you were mine.

The days flew by like minutes,
Gone before they'd start-
But the minutes trudge on leaden feet
Since our world fell apart.

They ask me how it happened-
I really can't explain.
How life which once was filled with joy,
Can be so full of pain...

Your fault? My fault? Who can say?
And does it really matter,
Where the blame does come to rest-
After a world is shattered?

I wish that I could say it...
But it really isn't true-
No way that I can truthfully-
Lay the blame on you...

I guess we let our feelings die-
Neglect just is not smart.
For when it ran it's final course,
Our world just fell apart.

Yes, happens more often than we probably even realize. Great expression, John!

Sad but time heals and worlds are put back together. Very good!
