Gentle haze in the sky
Tree reaching high to kiss
The wondrous smell of rainfall
In a country such as this

Winding roads smooth and wet
In forest made so green
Cloudy mist so beautiful
Canada is a dream!

This land so filled with wonder
It makes me feel so free
The beauty God has given
To this land and to the sea

I marvel at the grandeur
Of the mountains raised so high
Even at the smallest leaf
Where rests the butterfly

I love this land to which I've come
I wish it did not end
Canada you've given me
A chance for hearts to mend

cpalmer--It sounds like a beautiful place...your poem brings it to life along with the photo.  I would love to visit Canada sometime.

cPalmer - looks like you were in my neck of the woods, British Columbia.  Now, picture this...I look at that every single morning as I live at the top of a mountain overlooking the ocean.  My life is just too awesome, and I thank the Creator every single day for sharing nature with me.  Now...you did us proud with that poem, really proud, as that is Canada alright, my home and native land!  Loved it, and wait until ehtome, Melissa, and some others see!  Glad you liked your visit, and bet you enjoyed having your money stretch so far right?  Enjoyed!

~ Give the heavens above more than just a passing glance ~And when you get the choice to sit it out or dance ~ I hope you dance. (Lee Ann Womack)

Well it sounds like I was right in your neck of the woods!  Got to see alot of Vancouver and as far north as Lilloet! As far east as Hope and then back to Vancouver...that's when I wrote this on a rainy drive.  I also got to spend 5 days on the island!  Victoria is beautiful and Campbell River is even better....to wake up to that every day!  I am envious!  You have alot be proud of!  And yes, the money does stretch a little further!  Plan to go back next year!  Thanks

Thanks for taking me back to a wonderful view, our trip through Jasper and Banff forests was awesome.  The Canadian Rockies take one's breath away.  Lovely poem, too, almost as powerful as the air feels up there amid the landscape of peaks, snow, elk and buffalo.

Boy did this make me homesick!  I have been in the States many years but I am Canadian. All my relatives are there most of whom live in Vancouver or on the island. I go when I can to visit, but it's not nearly often enough. Your poem was so descriptive, I felt like I was riding with you. Terrific!
