a fevered hitch
drew them to the justice
in the morn, the fever broke

well, thanks, cindi, I'll explain my thoughts

getting hitched--getting married
justice=justice of the peace
in a fever if passion they married
in the morning, their fevers had broken
no one spoke=struck dumb over what they'd done
