The Shores of Alone

0 posted 2001-07-23 12:55 PM

Oh, golden land of swaying palms
plumeria scent in the air
I long for days of peace and calm
ocean sunsets, only found there.

I miss your crashing ocean waves
sand made for toes to sink into
the moonlit nights and sun kissed days
nothing remains since leaving you.

Perhaps it's true, I mostly miss
the love I found there, oh so brief
but that was not the only bliss
I found a home I long to keep.

Yes, home is how I think of you
and somewhere I shall return to.

Catalinamoon,

I grew up in San Diego, lived there for 27 years. I still miss it too, in fact, a lot of the poems I write are about the ocean and the bay...My folks are still there, so I get down there a couple of times a year, it's become very crowded and expensive there, not the San Diego I remember, but the beaches are still the same.

Sandra,
Someday you'll go "home". A beautiful write, full of imagery and longing...
