“Will you marry me?”

He asked the question, holding out his heart,
within his hand...
She felt the answer stir inside her soul...
His face, her well-loved fantasy,
their destiny pre-planned...
He was her Prince, in dreams so long ago...
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
She said:  “I’ve waited for you”
All these years I’ve known, inside my heart,
that you were real...
Our paths would cross, and someday we would meet...
I knew that if I held onto my dream,
someday I’d feel
this joy, to lay my heart here at your feet...
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

“Please take my hand”

He beckoned her to venture near,
and place her hand in his...
And soon she found her home in his embrace...
A look into his gentle eyes,
became their love’s first kiss...
and tears of joy slipped down her weary face...
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
“My answer is ...yes”
She’d always known someday he’d come,
and soul to soul would mate...
And now she saw the smile within his eyes...
The question asked---the answer given,
their love, an act of fate...
Two hearts as one, on angel’s wings to rise...
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

The question has been answered,
but the story has just begun...
And who can guess what new games Fate will play?
The two will join together,
and their hearts will be as one...
Eternal love...
Forever, and a day...
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
The road goes on forever, and the stories never end...
very good read, if only we all could have our own forever and a day
Though dreams can be deceiving
Like faces are to hearts
They serve for sweet relieving
When fantasy and reality lie too far apart
Wonderful thoughts Sunnyone.   I believe that too many of us that reach out for forever find ourselves embracing never or whenever...hard to find two hearts with common goals...James
Wonderful poem. My soulmate and I have based our entire time together (31 yrs) on these two lines:
...Eternal love...
Forever, and a day...
I'll be sure she reads this one. Thanks.
Beautiful poem Sunny, I like the last stanza best,
The questions hav been answered,
but the stories just begun...
And who will guess what new games fate will play?
The two will join together,And their hearts shall be as one...
Eternal love...
Forever and a day...
This is so powerful so positive but let us what new games fate will play.
Many times romance is not reverenced by both husband and wife, and the dreams and promices never come true. It is so sad. I have a happy story book romance with my wife, But it is so sad what is going on in our world.
Do not fear going forward slowly,
Fear only standing still.
Hello shadow974...
Love is always unpredictable and sometimes very suprising in it's outcome.  I do believe in soul mates, as I was blessed in this life with my own.  But I also know that there are many lost souls looking and not seeing when they think that they have found the right one.  Yes, there is misery, and lonliness, and betrayal on every level. But we should rejoice in the stories of those who have shown us that love is really out there.  For, as your own story, it gives us hope, and the courage to try...just one more time!   Thank you so much..as this was a very special poem to me, and my soul mate.
The road goes on forever, and the stories never end...
Lovely sentiments.
Too bad over 1/2 of all "forever and a days"
can actually be measured in time.
There is society where none intrudes, by the deep sea, and music in its roar.
