Lost to the Stars

To stars that diamond up above
I need the lust of Van Gogh’s love
Colors of Renoir’s detailed thrust
Without Picasso’s holocaust

A touch of dotted Seurat’s din
A scene that grabs and draws you in
A palette dripping vibrant hue
That shows a world of painted new.

A canvas full of optic flow
A painting full of primal glow
That makes you care and come aware
That holds you still and makes you stare.

It is a wish and not a dream
A palette full of painters scheme
All painted with desires brush
And stroked with magic of its lush.

But alas it will not cast, for
The hourglass draws near the last.

I LOVE that first verse!!!!
What a very very cool poem
I cant think of a more perfect poetic melding than that of a poets mind and an artists eye...
and you prove that with this DELIGHTFUL poem
(and ya knew I was gonna love the challenge of finding you pics)
your gonna have to help me with the Surat intend tho...
several searches turned up very little...
is that an Artist? or reference to the city in India?

Charisma,
Delightful comment, thank you.

From what I've read of most of your work, Sy, I'd say you already possess that for which you ask...  perhaps it takes the perspectives of others upon one's own work to change one's ever-too-critical mindframe into a stronger sense of "self-worth" in terms of one's artistic renderings...  (By the way:  is that an inadvertent typo in the title or an allusion to something in particular...?)

I didn't think anything could be more delightful than your poem, Seymour... for your artistic and poetic talents blend superbly into a read that invites the reader to see. *S* But whatever you're paying Janet Marie, she deserves a raise! LOL! For her graphics are the icing on this tasty creation you've given us... Beautiful!

Great job with this one Sy. . . I really liked the way that you used the methods of painting that each artist used in their works to paint the stars of life. . .

excellent. . .
