Tokyo Crows

Strange things happen
notably in nature,
as species learn to adapt,
we’re left to ponder,
messages to decode
leave us confounded,
and the good folks of Tokyo
find themselves surrounded.

Rain? No, that’s not rain
dropping from the skies,
something more along the lines
of an uninvited surprise!
Calligraphy
blending with cement -
gray on gray
in messy descent.

It’s mating season,
the crows are on the offensive,
swooping down from behind
to folks on the defensive;
with no where else to go,
these squatters in the city,
raid garbage cans for food,
learning by committee.

What to do? What to do?
Can’t just shoot them in the street,
like so many ducks in a barrel,
or sell them to cafés for meat,
that just wouldn’t be apropos,
so for now, they’ve won,
Tokyo Crows.

Oh, I couldn't imagine that many crows in one place! I feel sorry for those Tokyo residents! I enjoyed the humor. *S*

You did a fine job with a difficult subject!
enjoyed..
