Jim Warren ~Artist~

Dancing With A Memory

As I watch the silent waves,
I see your face in the ripples
glistening in trails of moonbeams
as my heart drowns in your distance.

All there is, is darkness and nostalgia.
Lonely clouds drift across the sky
and I vision you walking on water
headed for my empty arms.

It took forever it seems, to feel your
hungry lips on mine and hear
the beating of your heart
keeping rhythm to mine.

My hands cupped your face
and your eyes said, I love you
and a tear fell on to your lips
and I kissed it away.

The silence is like a melody
that plays in my mind
but with you in my arms
I will forever sing your song;

as you take me away to where
you live in distant memories
as we dance to the silence
of the nearness of you.

it was love that first drew me,
it is love that will keep me here...
now I see love burning brightly
when everything else is unclear...

Love the poem and the picture, well done.

very good...i like it. i live in memories but this poem has given me hope for the future. my love has been seperated from my by so many miles so this poem has given me so much faith that things will all work out.

confused among strangers,
lost amongst myself.

Well, well Mz. Flutterwings, are we not the romantic in this one!  I loved it, and your presentation was beautiful.  I won't write you a book like Martha (lol), but I will say you weave words into a mean poem! I luv ya 2.
