Hope you don't mind, Marge, but your title sent me off on a fantasy.

Weave Me a Magic Quilt
Virginia Salter

brown-eyed Susan’s
black-eyed peas
orange juices
elephant knees
crimson dolly’s
dress of silk
alligator candy
crocodile milk
Sally’s fancy
eyes a-glimmer
boy named Clancy
he’s a swimmer

hop-scotch
hickory-dock
mouse and catkins
squeak and squawk
pirouettes
‘cross the lake
cattail wands
shimmer, shake
magic weaving
through the air
dragonflies
flit their ware
you and I, dear,
holding hands
in this bench
upon the land
silhouettes
of romance dreams
weave and roll
on summer’s stream

thank you all, nonsense can be so much fun to write, hadn't thought of the children's book angle, but the pics could be great at that, and maybe a mom and a dad at the end holding hands on a bench by the lake, ocean or river---fun idea!!!

What a perfect quilt! So colorful in many ways.
I think you should have called it, The Happy Quilt.
I love this!

Deb
