I dedicate this poem to Antonella, may God grant her 48 hours in a day so that she can spend some with me...
New Beginnings
by White Knight

crimson hues,
wash away the blues,
as the sweltering sun slides,
slowly,
gracefully into the sea,

Light pink at first,
then deeper red,
the sky signals the end,
the end of the day,

shimmering light,
reflecting,
almost night.
the sea swallows the sun,

the twinkling stars shine above,
the day is done,
but all is not over,
all is not gone,
just changed somehow.

a new beauty fills the night,
not the same,
yet somehow right,
as I sit and count the stars this night.

The moon comes out,
and says to me,
I am not alone,
I am free.

I think briefly of the past,
but it is gone,
at last.

Tonight is here like the stars,
and tomorrow,
is not so far.

Ahh, what a beautiful sunset you paint!
Great imagery here, I love it.

Great sentiments...nice flow, too

I am new here and not an expert by any means, but perhaps this poem would be just as fine...without any punctuation...just a thought.

I have, I've walked that road each time; that's where my angel sleeps
