Teapot

It’s delicate beauty
A china teapot softly sits
Offering solace from the world
Playing the familiar comforting song
I can still hear the gentle echoes
Of her soothing tender voice
Floating in the air.

~*~

Memories emerge.
As my soul glows warmly
Remembering the happier times
Feeling safe… happy there in your house
Watching you… singing a long
With the tinkering melody
While washing dishes

~*~

Emotions flow freely.
As my heart cries with want
Wanting to see you one more time
To tell you I love you… feel your gentle arms
Wrap around me… a consuming hug
Making me feel like the lil girl
That used to sit in your lap

~*~

I smile softly.
Hearing the soft chimes
Knowing that every time it plays
I feel you near… your heart holding mine.
Your love encircling my being
Giving me the strength
Holding my hand.

This is for my great-grandmother who I have been missing very much. She passed away almost 11 years ago.. and I still need her as much as I did when she was here.   A recent email from a very kind person reminded me how much I missed her..and how important she was and is in my life... inspiring me to write this. Thanks SEA   .

Tara, I am very glad SEA said something that brought this about...it is a lovely read, and one can see the bonds between you and your grandmother just as clear as if the teapot were whistling now...

thank you for sharing....

Sunshine - Thank you.  The china teapot was actually a music box. It plays Tea For Two.  I have it sitting in my bedroom   I'm glad you stopped in... and I'm glad you liked it.

The title drew me in, for I adore teapots. I was pleasantly surprised, and my heart was quickly touched by your tender poem for your grandmother.

To tell you I love you… feel your gentle arms

I miss my grandma too.
