KITTY-CAT
Virginia Salter

my kitty-cat wants a lap to snuggle
she doesn’t want to toss or tussle

just find an opportunity
to leap and land above my knee

each and every time the whim
gives desires that make her swim

in dizziness, in agony
when she must wait for lap of me

so I must go and leave this scene
for kitty-cat thinks I’m too mean

I would hate that to be so
therefore, good-bye, I’ve got to go

Sounds like some pretty pampered cats to me VAS.. I find mine are rather like pirates...
they like to come along side and leap onto the deck ( my lap) then try to climb past my fighting hands to snuggle under my chin...
Ptu!! cat hair again....

(laughing)

heh heh heh, and I suppose your now and again shadow of a beard clings to each and every hair, or maybe you wear a beard all the time

so happy to know you have pirates

you're a writer, why would I think anything else

I've been reading lots of books lately about cats...non-fiction ones like Cleveland Amory's The Cat Who Came for Christmas and the sequals.  Currently I'm reading a book written by a cat and translated by Paul Gallico called The Silent Miaow

These books have shown that cats and writers are quite compatible creatures.

your words make me want to purr
instead of spit

I've really learned
a hissy fit totes lots of clout!
