I dig deep inside my heart
Searching frantically for missing parts
Where could they have gone
Disappearing before the new day dawns?

I sit and feel the emotions flood
Running over me like fresh blood
They easily bring me to my knees
Silently my heart screams its pleas

Do you hear the despair echo about
As my mind continues to shout?
Will anyone truly care
About the pain I feel in there?

Sometimes I wonder why go on
I was nothing more than a pawn
In the little games you played
Weakening me so I stayed

I felt anguish fill my soul
Threatening never again to be whole
What has been left in the past
Should be laid to rest here at last

I am weary from the fight
It stalks my days and haunts my night
Leaving me with no sense of peace
When will my agony cease?

The battle inside still rages
Pouring across these blue pages
The victory shall not be mine
Anger destroyed the finish line

I hang my head in defeat
My heart won’t be complete
It beats on despite the hole
Obliviously striving for the goal

All writing comes
by the grace of God.
-Ralph Waldo Emerson

Painfully penned, and done so very well.

Do not fear going forward slowly,
Fear only standing still.

Get your little self back here and change those last few lines Missy, the victory WILL be yours, ok?  I'm not going to let you give up without fighting, you rewrite that in your heart and then it will come out from a beautiful, vibrant, hopeful young woman who has so many good qualities half the people here don't even know it!

Well, let me tell them all, hey you PIPERS, this woman is kind, compassionate, caring and devoted to her friends, do you hear me?  She deserves to know that her words matter to the poets here she has so kindly and loyalty replied to and has now bore her heart here, let's give her some love and support and tell her that she is NOT a lone wolf.
your recognition as a poet, friend and woman is long and sorely overdue.....

love you

Wow - this really hit me hard, so well expressed from the depths of your heart of pain. Tonight, I seem to relate to the sad poems, yours is going into my library~

Take care,

An apology to you. I inadvertently posted a reply as a new post. Being the new village idiot isn't easy. Anyway, I suspect you are a strong person, as your writing rings of honesty and truth, and is very well written.
