Evenin’ Out West
Virginia Salter

Cowboy hats
baseball caps
bicycle built for two
rockin’ songs
sing along
fun t’be here with you

black top pavement
in a hundred horse town
people sittin’, chattin’,
tappin’ toes, romancin’
listenin’ to music goin’ down

Ol’ dogs, young dogs
dads, moms, chilluns
sippin’ sodas
lickin’ ice cream cones

evening’ settles in
moist air
accounts the gentle breeze
as day crawls into horizons bed
pulls pink cirrus over its head
and bids all, “Good night.”

Starts off almost like a Statler Brothers' song
Love the ending Virginia.  Actually, I loved the whole thang.
