                        Memories

Have I walked this road before
Has it doubled back
And given me a view of its score
Time stood still as I watched in thrill
All the stones I did step on before
Now show prominent to those I did ignore

Ah, a rift in memory
Can I now choose which stones to step
There are those that are better left

This is my history lain in coble stone
Step by step
        I laughed, I cried, I have grown
        This little road of steps
It is my teacher, my mentor,
        My enlightenment, My crown.

Do not fear going forward slowly,
Fear only standing still.

I like this too, reminds us to not forget the roads we have traveled in our lives as well as the lessons learned.

Strive for higher levels, if they seem out of reach... Grow, and they will get closer.

Very nicely written Dan! A wonderful reminder to me that when viewing the past, the steps we've chosen are as important to us as those we did not take. I really enjoyed the ponderings this brought to mind, well done!

Best wishes,
/Kit

Thank you Sunshine- Sometimes I look back and wish but mostly I smile.

Thank you ThUnDeRkYsS-It's good to try to figure out how I got where I am today.

Thanks KIT- Parents say you should choose wisely, well, sometimes I was worried about falling on my butt while making those steps.

Thanks JLR- Sometimes my life comes and looks back at me and I wonder could it have been different?

Capt Hair Thank you-

Vicky thank you- At one time I didn't realize it but I am responsible for my life.

Do not fear going forward slowly,
Fear only standing still.

Well written and worthy of periodic re-reads to savour the thoughts contained.  Very artistically written with a contemplative tone.  I enjoyed this.
