In the Winds
Virginia Salter

when
the wind blows
no matter harshly or gently
the trees dance
the only difference
when they dance in the light
they appear
filled with
more
gaiety

were that I
a willow or an elm
an aspen
or an
alder

would I then
alter my play
in the winds of life
