In a corporeal internship...

0 posted 2001-07-17 12:13 PM

(Now that I've posted most of my older poetry and lyrics, I'm ready to dive into some fresh writing and thoughts.  Since my style tends to be lengthy and very strict form and rhyme, I'm going to try something a little different for me:  a new series of poems that I'll call "TWENTY OR LESS..." implying that each will consist of twenty or less words, in free-form style, with the intent of letting the words conjure up subjective impressions and definitions for my readers -- let the previous boundaries of style and form evaporate, for a while, and let's see what your impressions are...  Enjoy!  -MVS)

Fear heard my question
Answering in muffled chortles
In time
My laugh found
Darkness white

Like where you have gone with these Mark...
and have enjoyed reading, pondering, and responding in kind...

Laughing at me now
fear illuminated well
darkness can be light

Thanks, Ron...  Likewise.  Good summation.

Meaning that there is always some light to be found in darkness? Not entirely certain of my interpretation on this.

one might only fear
fear itself, for I have found
no fear in your heart

You're "on the right track" (in terms of my personal interpretation of this piece)...

My Lady -- very good.

Here's my take:  When asking one's self, "Why am I afraid -- what is there to fear?", one hears Fear snickering, pushing forward insecurities to plague one's self;  then, after experience and wisdom, one ultimately has the "last laugh" at Fear because one has come to the realization that, like my Lady has stated -- there's nothing to fear afterall, for there indeed is Light in Darkness once one is ready to perceive it...

I do believe that any style you choose to write in will be perfection in itself!!
Enjoyed this, Mark!!!

Connie:  if my words can act as a positive therapy to anyone, then again, I am honored and inspired.  I'm "just a student of life" and "teach" what I have discovered for myself (present for consideration, really...).  Thanks for the read, and I like your interpretation.

Sunnyone, you give me too much credit, but I thank you for the encouraging words!  I figure that "perfection" is simply the process of honestly pursuing the horizon and always getting a couple of steps closer...
