When did you last tell me you loved me?
When was the last time my heart skipped a beat?
How long ago were we both consumed by passion?
And basked in love's glorious heat?

My mind tries to resurface these memories
But they seem to be lost in the fray
Oh how I long to hear "I love you"
I wish you could say these words today

You used to live deep inside my heart
The place you took as your new address
How easily I would succumb
Whenever I felt your warm caress

But like an ember that has died in the fire
So have the sparks between me and you
There's such an incredible amount of distance
And love has all but vanished from view

The bridges of love have been frayed
You no longer seem to care how I feel
Unlike when we first met long ago
When so easily was my heart yours to steal

In denial am I as I sit here
All alone as I stare into space
No love remains anymore in our cabin
Was I to blame for this gradual fall from grace?

SueTang~
This piece oozes such sad longing~
When love departs and leaves no forwarding address ...
it's hard to believe it can be found again~
But ... it can ... you just have to open the cabin windows
and let fresh, new love in~

Needs change, chemistry changes,
interests change, we keep moving,
sometimes in diverging directions.
Is anyone to blame?

You've captured well, this hollow pain.

Stop, acknowledge, feel, ponder, learn, grow, and move on...  easier said than done, I know, but the road keeps going forward if we look up a bit to see it...  Heartfelt write, Sue.

Suetang-
   This just aches...so very sad.
I must echo Marge...love can come
again...you simply have to let it in.
